Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Thermal Stability

The DSC run in a closed glass crucible under air is attached ('Attached background material'). The test item Tributyl borate showed an exothermic effects in the temperature range of 150 – 220 °C, with a decomposition energy of of -30 J/g.

Dynamic method: Vapour-liquid equilibrium (VLE)

The vapour pressure was measured in the temperature range of 65.4 to 138.3 °C. The measured vapour pressure values together with the measured temperatures are listed above ('Vapour pressure'); the vapour pressure curve (log p versus 1/T) is attached ('Attached background material').

From the measured data points of the vapour pressure curve the constants A, B and C of the Antoine equation

log10 p = A +  B / (C+θ)

can be derived by regression (Microsoft Excel) of the data points to

A = 7.9502

B = -1601.68

C = 273.15.

The vapour pressure of the test item was calculated by extrapolation of the measured vapour pressure curve for the temperatures 20, 25 and 50 °C.

Conclusions:
- 3.07 hPa at 20°C
- 3.79 hPa at 25°C
- 9.86 hPa at 50°C
Executive summary:

The vapour pressure of the test item Tributyl borate was calculated by extrapolation of the measured vapour pressure curve for the temperatures 20, 25 and 50 °C, according to Regulation EC 440/2008 Method A.4.Vapour Pressure and OECD Test Guideline 104 (2006):
