Results:

In the investigation of self-ignition no exothermic or endothermic effect was detected under the prescribed conditions of this test.

Executive summary:

EU Method A.16. – The relative self-ignition temperature of the test item was determined using a procedure designed to be compatible with Method A.16., Relative Self-Ignition Temperature for Solids, of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008.

An aliquot of test item (8 cm3) was packed into a suitable vessel and placed in an oven as prescribed by the guideline.  The temperature of the oven was increased from ambient to 400 ℃ at a constant heating rate of 0.5 K/min.  The temperature and behaviour of the test item monitored throughout this thermal programme.

No relative self-ignition temperature was observed under prescribed test conditions.
