Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

- Inhalation

Remove affected person from source of contamination. Move affected person to fresh air and keep warm and at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. Get medical attention if any discomfort continues.

- Ingestion

Rinse mouth thoroughly with water. Drink a few glasses of water or milk. Get medical attention if any discomfort continues. Do not induce vomiting.

- Skin contact

Wash skin thoroughly with soap and water. Get medical attention if any discomfort continues.

- Eye contact

Remove any contact lenses and open eyelids wide apart. Continue to rinse for at least 15 minutes. Continue to rinse for at least 15 minutes. Get medical attention if any discomfort continues.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Dry powder, carbon dioxide or foam.

Product arising from burning: The substance is combustible and will burn if involved in a

fire, evolving noxious fumes (eg carbon and nitrogen

oxides).

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and self-contained breathing

apparatus must be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Evacuate personnel from immediate vicinity.

- Personal precautions

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment conforming to

the relevant national or international standards

- Environmental precautions

Avoid the spillage or runoff entering drains, sewers or watercourses. Spillages or uncontrolled discharges into watercourses must be reported immediately to the Environmental Agency or other appropriate regulatory body.

- Methods for cleaning up

Absorb spillages of solutions with a suitable inert material

(eg sand or soil). Carefully transfer the spillage to waste

containers, or use a sealed industrial vacuum machine.

Containers filled with waste material must be labelled in

the same way as the original containers.

.

Handling and storage

Handling: The substance should be handled and used in conditions of

good industrial hygiene and in conformity with any local

regulations in order to avoid exposure.

Engineering controls are necessary to reduce exposure to the

substance.

When exposure cannot be prevented or adequately controlled

appropriate personal protective equipment should be worn.

Such protective equipment should conform to the appropriate

international or national standards as follows;

Chemical protective gloves to Standard EN374.

Chemical resistant clothing to Standard EN368.

Eye protection to Standard EN166.

> Precautions for safe handling

Wear protective clothing.

- Hygiene measures

Wash promptly with soap and water if skin becomes contaminated. Wash at the end of each work shift and before eating, smoking and using the toilet. Promptly remove any clothing that becomes contaminated. Use appropriate skin cream to prevent drying of skin. When using do not eat, drink or smoke.

- Environmental exposure controls

Should only be used in workplaces with impermeable floors and suitable containment systems for spillages. Any spillages should be thoroughly cleaned up.

> Storage precautions

Store in tightly-closed, original container in a dry and cool place.

Exposure controls / personal protection

- Eye/face protection

The following protection should be worn: Chemical splash goggles.

- Hand protection

Wear protective gloves.

- Other skin and body protection

Wear apron or protective clothing in case of contact. Wear impermeable boots

- Respiratory protection

Where necessary should conform to: EN 141 (gas and combined filters) EN 405 (Filtering half-masks against gases or gases and particles) -or equivalent

Stability and reactivity

- Reactivity

There are no known reactivity hazards associated with this product.

- Chemical stability

Stable at normal ambient temperatures.

- Possibility of hazardous reactions

Not applicable.

- Conditions to avoid

Avoid heat.

- Hazardous decomposition products

Oxides of carbon. Thermal decomposition or combustion may liberate carbon oxides and other toxic gases or vapours.

Disposal considerations

- Disposal methods

Dispose of waste to licensed waste disposal site in accordance with the requirements of the local Waste Disposal Authority. For disposal within the EC, the appropriate code according to the European Waste Catalogue (EWC) should be used. It is the responsibility of the polluter to assign their waste to waste codes specific to industrial sector and processes according to the EWC. Do NOT reuse empty containers. Contaminated packaging should be treated as for the substance/preparation.
