Additional information

One study investigating the algal toxicity of Glycerides, castor-oil mono-, di- and tri- (CAS 91744-27-3) is available. The study was performed according to GLP and OECD guideline 201 using Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata as test organism (Bak 2018). Loading rate WAFs in the range of 4.69 to 150 mg/L were tested. Based on nominal concentrations, the 72h-EL50 value for growth rate inhibition is determined to be 20.68 mg/L. The EL10 value is lower than the lowest concentration tested of 4.68 mg/L. However, the NOELr/ EL10 of < 4.69 mg/L is not considered to be of biological relevance. The 2 lowest concentrations showed significant differences to the control; however, the growth of both concentrations were still higher than 16-fold. This indicates that the unusual high growth rate within the control (increased by a factor of 127.4 within the 72-hour test period) generated this statistical artifact. Thus, the 72h-NOELr/EL10 value is not considered to be reliable and is not used for the hazard assessment of the test substance.
