The information available for the terrestrial system is limited. Where studies exist, they were not performed according to an international accepted guidelines. However, these data indicate that DCA has most likely no effect on the germination at when sprayed on terrestrial plants with up to 500 mg/L and will not result in mortality within 24 hours after oral administration of up to 600 mg/kg in chicken. Since the terrestrial toxicity testing is not needed for readily biodegradable substances which are not directly applied to the soil, no further data were generated. Based on the available data DCA does not raise special concern for the terrestrial risk assessment.
