Pre-Test for Safety

Formation of the bubbles was visible at 128 °C. The bubble chain was observed at 148 °C and the chain broke at 139.9 °C. The appearance had visually not changed after cooling down.

Determination of the Flash Point

* The measurements were started at 23 °C (read from the display of the Flash Point Tester PMA 5).

Interpretation of results:
Category 3 (flammable liquids) based on GHS criteria
Conclusions:
The flash point of the test item was determined to be 39.0 ± 0.5 °C (corresponding to 312.2 ± 0.5 K).
Executive summary:

A study was performed according to EU method A.9, OPPTS 830.6315 and UN manual, method 32.4 in order to determine the flash point of the test item using the Pensky-Martens closed cup non-equilibrium method. A flash point tester was used for determination. After filling the clean test vessel with test item, the program was started. After the first determination, the test was repeated (two determinations).

The flash point of the test item was determined to be 39.0 ± 0.5 °C at 1013.25 hPa (corresponding to 312.2 ± 0.5 K).

Description of key information

The flash point of the test item was determined to be 39.0 ± 0.5 °C (corresponding to 312.2 ± 0.5 K).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flash point at 101 325 Pa:
