Additional information

N-[3-(triethoxysilyl)propyl]ethylenediamine (CAS 5089-72-5) hydrolyses in contact with water to the corresponding hydrolysis products N-[3-(trihydroxysilyl)propyl]ethylenediamine and ethanol. On the basis of available data, N-[3-(trihydroxysilyl)propyl]ethylenediamine has low volatility, low adsorption potential and is not expected to biodegrade. Therefore, in case N-[3-(triethoxysilyl)propyl]ethylenediamine is released into the environment it is expected to hydrolyse rapidly and its silanol hydrolysis product is expected to be found mainly in the aquatic compartment.
