First-aid measures

Eyes: In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
Skin: Remove as much material from skin as possible by wiping with a dry cloth. Then wash with large amounts of water until all material is removed.
Ingestion: If the material is swallowed, get immediate medical attention or advice.
Inhalation: Move person to non-contaminated air, get immediate medical attention or advice.
Notes to physician: Provide general supportive measures and treat symptomatically.

Fire-fighting measures

General Fire Hazards: The substance is not combustible. Fires should be fought in the surrounding areas of the substance.
Hazardous Combustion Products: Under fire conditions, decomposition products are potassium oxide, and antimony oxides.
Extinguishing Media: Adapted to the fires in the surrounding areas of the substance.
Fire Fighting Equipment/Instructions: Wear full protective clothing, including helmet, self-contained positive pressure or pressure demand breathing apparatus, protective clothing and face mask.

Accidental release measures

Containment Procedures: Contain the discharged material. Remove sources of strong acids and hot surfaces. Remove sources of water.
Clean-up Procedures: Avoid dust formation. Avoid breathing dust. Pick up and collect the substance by sweeping up. Keep in dry metal containers with proper label and cover. Take immediately to a waste handling area.
Evacuation Procedures: Isolate area. Keep unnecessary personnel away.
Special Procedures: Do not let the spillage enter drains or water courses. Discharge to aquatic environment must be avoided.

Handling and storage

Handling Procedures: Avoid getting the substance into contact with your skin and eyes. Do not breathe dust from this material. Minimize worker contact with the substance by using protective clothing (gloves, protective clothing, shoes). To further reduce worker contact with the substance, where applicable use mechanical equipment (forklifts, cranes, conveyor belts) or ladles/shovels to handle the substance.

Storage Procedures: Keep in a tightly closed container stored in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area. Store away from water or locations where water may be applied to extinguish a fire. Avoid high temperatures. A detached, fire-resistive building is recommended for quantity storage. Isolate from moist air, acids, and oxidizing materials. Containers of this material may be hazardous when empty as they contain product residues (dust, solids).

Exposure controls / personal protection

Control of dermal exposure:
-General good hygiene and housekeeping
-Use personal protective equipment
Eyes/Face: Wear safety glasses with side shields. Wear chemical safety goggles where dusting is possible.
Skin: Normal work clothing (long sleeved shirt, long pants, and safety boots) is recommended. Wear work gloves.
Control of inhalation exposure:
-General good hygiene and housekeeping
-Use of local exhaust ventilation and respiratory protection is a recommended best practice.
Workplace control parameter: TWA = 0.5 mg/m3.
Control of environmental exposure:
-General good hygiene and housekeeping.
-Air filtration: fabric filter (eff 99.9%) is recommended.
-Do not allow the substance be discharged to wastewater and/or surface water by closing sinks/basins.

Stability and reactivity

Chemical Stability: Stable under ordinary conditions of use and storage.
Incompatibility: Contact with strong acids.
Hazardous Decomposition: Potassium oxide, antimony
oxides.
Hazardous Polymerization: Not applicable.

Disposal considerations

The substance that cannot be reused or recycled should be handled as a hazardous waste and sent to an approved treatment, storage and disposal facility.
Dispose of waste according to local environmental regulations.
