guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.10 (Flammability (Solids))
Version / remarks:
Council Regulation (EC) No.440/2008, Published in O.J. L 142, 2008
Deviations:
no

yes (incl. QA statement)
Key result
Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Remarks on result:
substance does not ignite and propagate combustion either by burning with flame or smouldering along 200 mm of the powder train within the 2 minutes test period

After the flame was put off, only that part of the sample, which was in contact with the flame was melted and burnt for a short time with the red flame. The melted test item sputtered.

The test item didn’t ignite and the flame did not propagate over 200 mm of the train within a specified time (less than 4 minutes). Therefore, the test item shouldn’t be considered as highly flammable and no further testing is required.

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
5-aminotetrazole should not be considered as highly flammable substance.
Executive summary:

Determination of flammability of solid test item, 5 -aminotetrazole, was performed.

Test was performed according to the Method A.10 Flammability (Solids), Council Regulation (EC) No.440/2008, Published in O.J. L 142, 2008.

The test item does not ignite and not propagate combustion.

5-aminotetrazole should not be considered as highly flammable item.
