Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets
Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Administer oxygen and seek
medical attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with water for 15 minutes and seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with plenty of water. Seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, carbon dioxide and foam may be used.
Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon,
nitrogen together with hydrogen chloride gas.
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: A self-contained breathing apparatus should be worn.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Evacuate and ventilate the area. Wear suitable protective
clothing (see 2.3.1). Remove all sources of ignition. Absorb
spill onto sand or vermiculate and sweep into suitable
labelled containers. Dispose of by incineration in
accordance with local regulations. Wash the spill site with
large quantities of water.
Handling and storage
Handling: Observe the usual precautions for handling organic
materials. An air hood (UK COSHH), safety glasses (BS 2090),
polyester cotton protective clothing and gloves (14 inch
gauntlets) should be worn.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place in sealed fibre containers. Keep
away from heat and sources of ignition, acids, strong bases
and oxidisers.

Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not possible.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: No method of chemical neutralisation is known that can
readily neutralise the known hazardous properties.
Hydrolysis under alkaline conditions may be possible but the
hazrdous properties of any products is not known
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method at a suitable facility. Waste gas
treatment to remove oxides of nitrogen and hydrogen chloride
gas should be fitted (A661).
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.
