Description of key information

An acute oral toxicity study was conducted on one TDI-category II member, Reaction mass of aniline and m-tolylidene diisocyanate. The result of this study showed no evidence of acute toxicity up to the highest dose tested (2000 mg/kg test item in Arachis oil BP). There is no evidence of a relevant intrinsic acute oral toxicity requiring classification or substance specific risk management measures.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The oral LD50 value was greater than 2000 mg/kg bw in the study conducted with the TDI-II category substance, therefore existing data supports the justification for non-classification. This conclusion is also relevant for other substances within the TDI-II category.
