Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air and seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush affected eyes with large amounts of water, and seek

medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash affected area with soap and water.  Seek medical

attention if irritation occurs.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water or carbon dioxide may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon and

nitrogen together with hydrogen bromide, metal oxide smoke

and some soot.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and a self-contained breathing

apparatus must be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Evacuate personnel from immediate vicinity. Wear appropriate

personal protective equipment, see 2.3.1. Avoid dust

formation by damping down with water.  Absorb spillages of

solutions with a suitable inert material (eg. sand or soil).

Carefully transfer the spillage to suitably labelled waste

containers, or use a sealed industrial vacuum machine. Clean

the spillage area with detergent and water, avoiding release

to drains. Dispose of waste material in accordance with

local regulations by landfill or incineration.

Handling and storage

Handling: Observe the usual precautions for handling organic chemicals

and avoid dust formation.

When exposure cannot be prevented by the use of engineering

controls appropriate personal protective equipment should be

worn. Such protective equipment should conform to the

appropriate international or national standards as follows;

Chemical protective gloves to Standard prEN374

Chemical protective clothing to Standard EN368

Eye protection to Standard prEN166.

Respiratory protection such as a dust mask conforming to

EN149 FFP1 may be required.

Storage: Store in sealed containers and avoid high humidity, high

temperature, and direct exposure to sunlight.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Polyethylene bottles containing 2 kg net of the substance.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Avoid contact with strong oxidising and reducing agents.

Chemical reaction with water: None reported.

Dust explosion: Not expected from experience in use, but there is a possible

dust explosion hazard from this organic powder.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance is recyclable both in normal use and after

accidental spillage.  Reclamation of the neat substance from

solution after the spin-coating process is expected.

(A618)

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: The substance should not be discharged to drains.  Disposal

by landfill is not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance can be disposed of by incineration by burning

under controlled conditions at a licensed waste treatment

processor in accordance with local regulations. Stack gases

should be scrubbed to remove oxides of nitrogen, hydrogen

bromide and palladium compounds. (A661)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for reuse is not feasible.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: The substance will only enter the public domain incorporated

into compact disks which may be disposed of as for domestic

waste.
