Preliminary test

A first endothermic heat effect was observed between 32.7°C and 44.1 °C (melting). A second endothermic heat effect was detected starting at 303.9°C (boiling). After the experiment, the sample had lost about 94 % of its mass and the color of the sample was shiny black and molten.

Main test

- The onset point of the endothermic peak could not be determined accurately. Therefore a melting range is reported.

- First test: melting range of 30.7°C to 37.5°C

- Second test: melting range of 30.6°C to 37.7°C

- During these two tests, the samples lost 0.3 % and 0.4 % of their mass, respectively

- After the measurement both samples were yellowish and molten

- The mean melting range was calculated from the results of the two tests

Conclusions:
The melting range of the substance was determined to be 30.7-37.6°C.
Executive summary:

Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) experiments were performed in a GLP study according to EC A.1 and OECD 102. A melting range instead of a well defined melting temperature was determined. The mean (n=2) melting range of the substance was determined to be 30.7-37.6°C.
