Description of key information

The substance is a UVCB. The constituents will have different properties which determine the fate of the UVCB in the environment.

Fate and pathways

The UVCB substance (or each constituent) is not known to contribute to global warming, ozone depletion in the stratosphere, ozone formation in the troposphere or acidification.

The UVCB substance contains ether bonds which are not sensitive to hydrolysis, but also might still contain (residual) methylester groups which are potentially hydrolysable. This substance is a complex mixture with high Powvalues for the components. Since none of the components is present in high percentage, hydrolysis of the test item cannot be evaluated based on one major component. Currently no Hydrolysis test method is available to determine amount and/or rate adequately for the UVCB.

The bioaccumulation potential for aquatic species and terrestrial species is based on predicted log Kow ranges (3.7 - 6.2) of the constituents and calculated BCF values using QSARs of Veith and Jäger, yielded min-max BCF ranges of 279 -37154 L/kg ww for fish and 61 -19020 L/kg for earthworms. The potential for bioaccumulation strongly differs between constituents and can not be concluded for the whole UVCB.

For Soybean oil, epoxidized, methyl ester, reaction products with propylene glycol the range of predicted log Koc values is 2.58- 11.3. This indicates medium to significant potential for adsorption.
