Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
vapour pressure
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
data from handbook or collection of data
Justification for type of information:
2-ethylhexanol and pentane-2,4-dione are two main hydrolysis prodcuts of the target substance. Properties of the the two substance are used for read-across.

ca. 20 °C
Vapour pressure:
ca. 0.93 kPa
Conclusions:
The vapor pressure of pentane-2,4,-dione is 0.93 kPa at 20°C according to published data.

Description of key information

Data published by ILO-ICSC.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
930 Pa
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

According to hydrolysis test results, the hydrolysis rate was estimated to be within several minutes. The hydrolysis products had been identified to be 2-ethylhexnol, acetylacetone and titanium dioxide. The vapor pressure of the organic hydrolysis products are 48 and 930 Pa at 20°C for 2-ethylhexnol and acetylacetone respectively, cited from ILO-ICSC data sheet. The higher value of hazardous acetylacetone released from the target substance is used as a key value in CSA.
