Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The registered substance is a reaction mass of two constituents: N,N,N',N'-tetrabutylmethylenediamine (named thereafter constituent 1) and dibutylamine (named thereafter constituent 2).

Based on the key biodegradation study, the registered substance is readily biodegradable and therefore is not considered persistent in the environment.

Regarding the potential of bioaccumulation of the registered substance, the log Kow value of the constituent 1 was determined at 5.7 with a predicted BCF at 113 L/kg, and the log Kow value of the constituent 2 was determined at 2.8. Therefore, the registered substance is not considered bioaccumulable according to CLP (log Kow < 4 or BCF < 500) and PBT criteria (log Kow < 4.5 or BCF < 2000).

Finally, the adsorption coefficient (Koc) of the registered substance has been evaluated to be 8855 and 269, for the constituent 1 and 2, respectively. This result indicates that the registered substance has a medium mobility to immobility in soils (according to P.J. McCall et al., 1981)
