Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation:Remove to fresh air, seek medical advice.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with copious amounts of water for approximately 15

minutes, seek urgently medical advice.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash affected area with soap and water, seek medical advice.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Rinse mouth with water, seek medical advice.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: carbon dioxide, chemical dry powder, alcohol or polymer foam

extinguisher

Specific Exposure Hazards: The substance will burn if involved in a fire, evolving noxious fumes e.g. carbon and nitrogen oxides and molybdenu containing compounds.

Product determined by test: N

Protective Equipment for Firefighters: Full protective clothing should be worn and self-contained breathing apparatus should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Personal Precautions: Evacuate personnel from immediate vicinity. Wear eye protection (e.g. goggles), chemical resistant gloves, protective clothing (e.g. an impervious apron) and a vapour mask conforming to standard EN405.

Environmental Precautions: Avoid release to drains.

Methods for Cleaning Up: Absorb spillages with a suitable inert material (e.g. sand and soil). Transfer the spillage to waste containers labelled in the same way as the original containers. Clean the spillage area with water and detergent.

Handling and storage

Handling

Precautions: The substance should be handled under conditions of good industrial hygiene and in conformity with any local regulations in order to avoid unnecessary exposure.

Technical Measures: Engineering controls such as LEV are necessary to reduce exposure to the substance.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Engineering Measures: Engineering controls such as LEV are recommended to reduce exposure to the substance.

Specific Control Parameters: None

Personal Protective Equipment: The provision of personal protective equipment and the need to provide engineerig control measures should be decided upon the user as part of a formal exposure risk assessment. Based upon the available toxicological information the protective measres described below should be regarded as a minimum:

Respiratory Protection: Based upon current information and in the absence of occupational exposure limits the use of a vapour mask to minimum standard of EN405 is recommended.

Hand Protection: Chemical protective gloves to a Standard EN 374 should be provided. Usage periods should not exceed the breakthrough times for the chemical stated by the manufacturer of the glove.

Eye Protection: Eye protection should be used when handling the substance. The protection should be capable of giving chemical protection as classified in EN 166.

Skin Protection: Handling of the material should be done wearing chemical protective clothing suitable for protection against the chemical as classified by Standard EN 368.

Stability and reactivity

Conditions to Avoid: Direct sunlight, high temperature.

Material to Avoid: Strong oxidising materials, peroxides.

Hazardous Decomposition Products: Carbon monoxide, oxides of nitrogen, molybdenum compouns.

Disposal considerations

Waste from Residues: Dispose of by incerination in accordance with local regulations. Stack gases should be scrubbed.

Contaminated Packaging: Dispose of by incineration in accordance with local regulations.
