Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Conclusions:
The test item does not ignite and propagate combustion either by burning with flame or smouldering along 200 mm of the powder train within the 2 minutes test period.
Executive summary:

The flammability of the test item was tested according to EU Method A.10 in a non-GLP study. The test item is not a highly flammable solid in the sense of the European Commission Regulation (EC) No. 440/2008, Method A. 10.

Endpoint:
substances / mixtures which in contact with water emit flammable gases
Data waiving:

Description of key information

Flammability

The flammability of the test item was tested according to EU Method A.10 in a non-GLP study. The test item is not a highly flammable solid in the sense of the European Commission Regulation (EC) No. 440/2008, Method A. 10.

Flammability, contact with water:

The study is scientifically not necessary, because the test material does not contain structural components associated with flammability on contact with water mentioned in the Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment Chapter R.7a: Endpoint specific guidance, chapter R.7.1.10.3, page 123. Therefore, it can be concluded that the test material exhibit no risk for flammability on contact with water.

Flammability, pyrophoric solids:

The study is scientifically not necessary, because the substance is known to be stable in contact with air at room temperature for prolonged periods of time (days) and the test material does not contain structural components associated with pyrophoricity mentioned in the Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment Chapter R.7a: Endpoint specific guidance, chapter R.7.1.10.3, page 123. Therefore, it can be concluded that the test material exhibit no risk for pyrophoricity.

Flammability, self-heating substances:

The study is scientifically not necessary, because the substance is completely molten at 160 °C.

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification

The test item does not ignite and propagate combustion either by burning with flame or smouldering along 200 mm of the powder train within the 2 minutes test period.

The main test is unnecessary, because no ignition was observed. The test substance is not a readily combustible solid in the sense of Regulation (EC) No. 440/2008, Method A.10 and Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.

Based on the physical state, the structural elements and the melting point the substance has neither to be classified as flammable in contact with air, nor as pyrophoric solid, nor as self-heating substance.
