Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
Test substance vapors formed a white cloud upon contact with the humidified air. Clinical signs observed during exposure included labored respiration, gasping, clear nasal and oral discharge, red ocular discharge, reduced response to sound, and wet fur. Post-exposure, surviving animals exhibited mild-to-moderate initial weight loss, followed by normal weight gain over the 2 week observation period. One animal from the 1.77 mg/l exposure group exhibited lung noise over the entire observation period.

The acute inhalation LC50 of tin tetrachloride (95% confidence limits) was calculated to be 1.35 (1.08-1.77) mg/l.
