Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
General advice : First aider needs to protect himself. Move out of dangerous area. Lie down unconscious person in the recovery position and
cover to prevent hypothermia. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. In the case of accident or if you feel unwell, seek medical
advice immediately (show the label where possible).
If inhaled : Remove to fresh air. Make the victim blow his/her nose. Oxygen or artificial respiration if needed. In case of problems, get medical advice.
In case of skin contact : Wash off immediately with soap and plenty of water. Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately. In case of problems, get medical advice.
In case of eye contact: : Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes. If easy to do, remove contact lens, if worn. Keep eye wide open while rinsing. In case of problems, get medical advice.
If swallowed : Rinse mouth with water. Do not induce vomiting without medical advice. In case of problems, get medical advice.
Most important symptoms and effects: No information available.
Fire-fighting measures
- Suitable extinguishing media: Water spray, Carbon dioxide (CO2), Alcohol-resistant foam, Dry powder
Keep containers and surroundings cool with water spray.
- Specific hazards during firefighting: Exposure to decomposition products may be a hazardous for health.
In case of fire hazardous decomposition products may be produced such as: carbon oxides, nitrogen oxides (NOx), gaseous hydrogen fluoride (HF)
- Special protective equipment for firefighters: Wear full protective clothing and self-contained breathing
apparatus (SCBA).
- Further information for firefighters: In the event of fire and/or explosion do not breathe fumes. Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. This must not be discharged into drains.
Accidental release measures
- Personal precautions : Ensure adequate ventilation. Evacuate personnel to safe areas. Do not get in eyes or mouth or on skin. Avoid dust formation. Avoid breathing dust. Use personal protective equipment.
- Environmental precautions : Prevent further leakage or spillage. The product should not be allowed to enter drains, water courses or the soil.
- Methods for cleaning up : Pick up and transfer to properly labelled containers. Pick up and arrange disposal without creating dust. Clean contaminated floors and objects thoroughly while observing environmental regulations.
- Waste treatment methods: Send waste substance/mixture to authorized collector for incineration under controlled conditions or appropriate disposal in accordance with local regulations. Do not allow to enter drains, water courses or soil.
Handling and storage
- Engineering and organizational protective measures:
Use of local exhaust ventilation with mechanical barrier or the same containment strategy equipment. Maintenance of the isolator or other equipment in under pressure. All working surfaces should allow easy cleaning. Maintenance of outlet filter in a closed system. Closed cleaning system or multi-phase cleaning equipment. Only operators trained in emergency evacuation procedures are allowed to access the area. Wet cleaning and
decontamination of full protective clothing.
- The use of personal protective equipment: protective suit, disposable protective clothing with protective head-covering, safety shoes (EN
ISO 20345), disposable shoe covers, Protective gloves (EN 374), nitrile rubber gloves (thickness 0.15 mm), Gloves must be inspected prior to use., safety glasses with side-shields (EN166), dust respirator with filter P3 (EN 149)
- Direct exposure only in case of an emergency, emergency maintenance or the inevitable
cleaning. The use of personal protective equipment: protective suit, insulated clothing for complete protection with external air supply (EN 14126,
EN12941, EN 14605: type 4,5,6), safety shoes (EN ISO 20345), disposable shoe covers, double protective gloves (inner: thickness 0.15 mm, outer: thickness 1.1 - 1.3mm).
- Protective measures :
Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are close to the workstation location.
The type of protective equipment must be selected according to the exposure time and amount of the dangerous substance/mixture at the specific workplace.
