Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Description of first aid measures

General notes: In case of reactions described in hazards identification or other severe, immediate or persisting symptoms seek medical advice and call the nearest poison centre. Show the label

and this safety data sheet.

Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If breathing becomes difficult, give artificial respiration. Call a

physician.

Skin contact: Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Flush with copious amounts of water for at least 15 minutes. Wash skin with soap and water. If irritation occurs or persists, get medical

attention.

Eyes contact : Immediately flush eyes with water for at least 15 minutes. If irritation occurs or persists, get medical attention.

Ingestion: Get medical attention. Do not induce vomiting unless directed by medical personnel.

Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

Self-protection of the first aider: Wear suitable protective clothing

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media

Suitable extinguishing media: Carbon dioxide, dry chemical powder or water spray.

Unsuitable extinguishing media: Do not use a heavy water stream which could cause the formation of a potentially explosive dust-air mixture.

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

Fire and explosion hazards: Fine particles (such as dust and mist) may fuel fires/explosion. Ignition of a dust cloud produces a strong explosion. Dust clouds are extremely sensitive to electrostatic ignition due low minimum ignition energy.

Specific hazards arising from the substance: May emit toxic fumes: COx, NOx, etc. Dust is combustible when suspended in air. Control ignition sources in areas where this substance in present.

Advice for firefighters

Special protective equipment and precautions for firefighters:

As with all fires, evacuate personnel to a safe area. Wear self-contained breathing apparatus

and protective clothing to prevent contact with skin and eyes.

Do not enter fire area without proper protective equipment, including respiratory

protection. Move containers from the fire area if possible without increased personal risk.

If possible, contain and collect firefighting water for later disposal. Avoid (reject) firefighting

water to enter environment. Prevent entry to sewers and public waters.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

For non-emergency personnel:

Fence or cordon the affected area and do not allow individuals to touch or walk through the

spilled material unless wearing appropriate protective clothing. Personnel involved in cleanup

should wear appropriate personal protective (see section 8). Minimize exposure. Avoid

dust generation. Spill should be handled by trained cleaning personnel. Switch off electrical

equipment and remove ignition source. Use non-sparking tools and equipment. Evacuate

area.

For emergency responders:

Spill should be handled by trained cleaning personnel properly equipped with respiratory

and eye protection (see section 8).

Environmental precautions:

Prevent entry into waterways, sewers, surface drainage systems and poorly ventilated areas.

Care should be taken to avoid environmental release. If spill is outdoors, cover with plastic

sheet to minimize spreading or contact with rain.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up

Clean-up methods: Use dry clean up procedures and avoid generating dust (control dust generation). Wipe up spillage or collect spillage using a high efficiency vacuum cleaner or sweep up. Dampen with water to prevent dusting before sweeping. Place in suitable containers for disposal.

Decontamination procedures: No data available.

Personal protective equipment, see sections 8 and 13 for further information.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling

General Requirements: Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety procedures. Use in a wellventilated area. Use good occupational work practice. Not to eat, drink and smoke in work areas. Avoid dispersion as a dust cloud. Wash thoroughly after handling. Remove

contaminated clothing and protective equipment before entering eating areas.

Ignition Controls: Eliminate possible ignition sources (e.g., heat, sparks, flame, impact, friction, electricity), and follow appropriate grounding and bonding procedures. Use appropriate ventilation. Avoid generating airborne dust. Avoid breathing dust.

Avoid all heat sources, including direct sunlight. Open flame. Sources of ignition. Sparks.

Incompatible materials see section 10.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

Conditions for safe storage:

Store in a dry and well-ventilated area. Protect from heat and moisture. Keep container

tightly closed when not in use.

Specific end use(s)

Except for the instructions already specified, it is not necessary to provide any special recommendation regarding the uses of this product.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Eye protection: Wear approved safety glasses with side shields or cover goggles if eye contact is possible.

Skin protection: Use protective clothing production and laboratory areas.

Gloves: The selection of gloves for a specific activity must be based on the material's properties and on possible permeation and degradation that may occur under the circumstances of use.

Glove selection must take into account any solvents and other hazards present. Potential

allergic reactions can occur with certain glove materials (e.g. Latex) and therefore these

should be avoided. Care must be exercised if insufficient data are available and further

guidance should be sought from your local EHS department. Compatible chemical-resistant

gloves.

Respirators: If the applicable Occupational Exposure Limit (OEL) is exceeded, wear an appropriate

respirator with protection factor sufficient to control exposures to below the OEL. Follow

local regulations for respirator use in the workplace. Protecting complete mask (filter P3),

if sole means of protection.

Other equipment or procedures: An eye wash station should be available.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity: Stable under normal condition of use.

Stability: Stable under normal condition of use.

Hazardous reactions: None under normal conditions.

Conditions to avoid: Eliminate possible ignition sources (e.g., heat, sparks, flame, impact, friction, electrostatic discharge).

Incompatible materials: None known.

Hazardous decomposition products

Hazardous polymerization: Will not occur.

Disposal considerations

Disposal Recommendations:

Dispose of this substance and its container at hazardous or special waste collection point.

Dispose in a safe manner in accordance with local/national regulations. The recommended

method of disposal is incineration.

Regulatory Requirements:

Observe all local and national regulations when disposing of this substance.

Special precautions: No data available.
