- The substance is the reaction product of copper sulfate (CuSO4) and triethylenetetramine (TETA). Biodegradation for CuSO4 is not relevant as this is a inorganic substance. Therefore, the biodegradability of the substance is determined by TETA. TETA has already been registered under REACH. For the biodegradation of TETA, it was concluded that the substance is not readily biodegradable.
Therefore, based on the biodegradability of TETA and as a worst-case approach, the reaction product of copper sulfate and triethylenetetramine was determined to be not readily biodegradable.
