Administrative data

Endpoint:
flammable liquids: obsolete as covered by section 'Flash point'
Data waiving:
study technically not feasible
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a liquid
Cross-reference
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
data waiving: supporting information
Reference
Endpoint:
auto-ignition temperature (liquids)
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
28 Jan 2020
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
ASTM E659 (Standard test method for autoignition temperature of liquid chemicals)
GLP compliance:
yes
Specific details on test material used for the study:
SOURCE OF TEST MATERIAL
- Lot/batch number of test material: 6252020
- Purity: 100%
- Expiration date:September 2021
Key result
Auto-ignition temperature:
> 400 °C
Atm. press.:
755 mm Hg

Auto-ignition was not observed at 400 °C. Experiment was repeated with larger volumes (150, 200, and 250 µL) and a smaller volume (50 µL). Ignition did not occur, so experiment was terminated.

Conclusions:
The auto ignition of ERGP-IEM was determined to be > 400 °C at 755 mmHg (ASTM E659).
Executive summary:

The auto ignition temperature of ERGP-IEM was determined to be > 400 °C. Sample was tested at 400 °C for 10 minutes at various volumes (100, 150, 200, 250 50 µL). Ignition did not occur at any volume, so the experiment was terminated. The study was conducted in accordance with ASTM E659 and was GLP compliant. Therefore, the study is considered reliable without restrictions.
