Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
flammable solids
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
27 APR 2021
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
UN Manual of Tests and Criteria: Test N.1 (Test method for readily combustible solids)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
no
Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Remarks on result:
substance does not ignite and propagate combustion either by burning with flame or smouldering along 200 mm of the powder train within the 2 minutes test period

FINDINGS AND RESULTS

Safety Pre-Test

The test substance burned with an orange flame, bloated and charred.

Preliminary Screening Test

In the preliminary screening test following the UN method, the test substance was heated with the flame of a gas burner. The test substance burned with an orange flame and charred in contact with the flame of the gas burner but it not burned further independently. No sign of ignition within two minutes.

Interpretation of results:
other: EU GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
No ignition was observed throughout the course of the test. The test substance should be considered as on-flammable solid.
Executive summary:

A non GLP-study was performed to assess the flammability of the substance according to UN Test N.1. No ignition was observed throughout the course of the test. The test substance should be considered as non-flammable solid.

Description of key information

A non GLP-study was performed to assess the flammability of the substance according to UN Test N.1. No ignition was observed throughout the course of the test. The test substance should be considered as non-flammable solid.
