First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Symptomatic treatment.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with water until water is no longer

cloudy.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash skin with soap and water until water is no longer

cloudy.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Alcohol type or all-purpose foam may be used for large fires

and carbon dioxide or dry powder for small fires.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon and

nitrogen together with some soot.

Protective equipment: A self-contained breathing apparatus should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Isolate spillage. Wear suitable protective clothing (see

2.3.1). If a major spillage, collect and transfer to

containers for disposal at a landfill site or by

incineration in accordance with local regulations. Minor

spillages may be flushed into sewer systems.

Handling and storage

Handling: Observe the usual precautions for handling organic

chemicals. Avoid inhalation and contact with skin and eyes.

Ensure adequate ventilation. Wear impervious gloves and

safety goggles. In poorly ventilated areas a respirator

should be worn.

Storage: Store in tightly closed containers in well ventilated area.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Fibre and lined drums (214 kg/drum), plastic drums (214

kg/drum), tank wagon (18-20 tonnes) and IBC tanks (1 tonne)

are suitable.
