First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient from exposure, seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical

advice.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with plenty of cold water, seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Symptomatic treatment

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Combustion products may contain carbon and sulphur oxides

together with some soot and hydrogen chloride gas. Use

water spray, foam, dry powder or carbon dioxide to

extinguishing fires. Wear a self-contained breathing

apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Absorb spillage with sand, earth or other suitable

material. Transfer to waste containers for disposal by

incineration.

Handling and storage

Handling: Normal standards of good housekeeping to avoid skin and eye

contact. Avoid inhalation of high concentrations of vapour,

use in a well ventilated area. At all times wear eye/face

protection and suitable gloves. A B3 full face mask

respirator should be worn under conditions of high vapour

concentration.

Storage: Keep container tightly closed. Keep away from direct

sunlight.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Treat with copious amounts of water and neutralise with

soda ash.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method. A temperature above 950 deg C should be

used. Waste gas treatment to remove sulphur oxides and

hydrogen chloride gas is recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended, the substance is not readily

biodegradable.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.
