Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

MV5CN is volatile and hydrolytically active. A half-life of 1.32 hours was measured at pH 7 and ambient temperature. To the extent that the substance remains in test medium, it would entirely hydrolyze to MV5CN amide during the test solution preparation. Therefore, in accordance with Chapter R.7B of the Guidance on information requirements, the hydrolysis product was tested directly.

In addition, studies were performed on MV5CN. Analytically determined concentrations were below detection limits in solution at all times during these tests. It is not known whether the test substance
was lost due to volatilization, hydrolysis, or some other mechanism.

All aquatic toxicity studies run with MV5CN amide were performed in accordance with internationally-accepted test guidelines and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards. These results
are considered reliable without restrictions. The results with MV5CN amide are suitable for purposes of Risk Assessment, Classification & Labeling, and PBT Analysis. The studies run with MV5CN
are not considered reliable due to known or suspected loss of test material during the study period and should not be used for the purposes of Risk Assessment, Classification & Labeling, and PBT Analysis.
