Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The adsorption coefficient of test substance, Solvent Yellow 124, on soil and on sewage sludge was estimated. The HPLC method with reference compounds was used.

The test was performed according to the Method C.19, Estimation of the adsorption coefficient (KOC) on soil and sewage sludge using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), Council Regulation (EC) No 440/2008, Published in O.J.L 142, 2008.

Estimation of the adsorption coefficient (KOC) on soil and sewage sludge at given pH of mobile phase and set temperature:

log   = 4.651 ± 1.168 (pH = 6.5, 25°C)

log  > 5 (5.510 ± 1.591) (pH = 6.5, 25°C)

The test substance was more retained on the column than any of reference standard. The results were obtained by extrapolation of the given calibration curve.

Since the value of log falls out of the recommended determinable range (1.5 to 5.0), which is listed in above quoted method C.19, the result for sewage sludge is considered less reliable.

Value of log  obtained by extrapolation of the calibration curve partially falls of the recommended determinable range.

Other adsorption coefficient indicated as dimensionless:
- other: Koc(soil) ,4.651 at the temperature 25.0°C
- other: Koc(sludge) ,5.51 at the temperature 25.0°C
