Description of key information

The parent substance Magnesium ethanolate has a log Kow <3, indicating that the substance has a low potential for bioaccumulation.
However, due to the rapid hydrolysis of the parent substance (according to OECD Guideline 111, half-life < 1 minute) to ethanol and Mg(OH)2, the hydrolysis products have been additionally assessed.

Mg(OH)2 is an inorganic substance known to have no bioaccumulation potential.

Ethanol also has a low potential for bioaccumulation (log Kow <3) and therefore testing for bioaccumulation is not required. The substance has low bioaccumulation potential.
Hence, in accordance with REACH Annex IX, 9.3.2., column 2, no study on bioaccumulation with ethanol is required.
