Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

NOEC (56 d) ≥ 1000 mg/kg dw for Eisenia fetida (OECD 222)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The toxicity of Fatty acids, C16-18 and C18-unsatd., hexaesters with dipentaerythritol (CAS 68604-38-6) to soil macroorganisms was tested in a GLP guideline study following OECD 222 (Hernádi, 2013). Earthworms of the species Eisenia fetida were exposed to the substance in artificial soil. The mortality and growth of adult specimen was determined after an exposure period of 28 days and the number of hatched juveniles was counted after 56 days. Neither the survival and growth nor the reproduction rate of the earthworms was affected by the substance. Thus a NOEC of ≥ 1000 mg/kg was reported.
