Description of key information

The hydrolysis as a function of pH of the test item n-heptanol was assessed according to the OECD guideline 111.
The objective of the study was to determine the rate of hydrolysis of n-heptanol in different buffers and at different temperatures.
The preliminary test showed that the item was stable at pH 4, 7 and 9 at 50 °C. No decomposition products could be detected by the analysis and less than 10% was hydrolyzed after five days for each of the three buffers. No further testing was necessary.
