Preliminary screening test

The flame of a gas burner did ignite the test substance pile. The test substance melted and burned with a yellow/blue flame and turned into a brown/yellow residue. White smoke was observed. The burning time over a distance of 200 mm, after the pile had burned a distance of 50 mm, was 50 seconds. According to this, the burning rate test was performed.

Burning rate test

The burning times over 100 mm, after the pile had burned a distance of 80 mm, are shown in the table below. All burning times are less than 45 seconds. According to this, the test substance is considered ‘highly flammable’.

#Time measured after the pile had burned over 80 mm.

Propagation of combustion was stopped by the wetted zone. The flame extinguished 30-40 seconds after reaching the wetted zone. It was therefore concluded that the wetted zone stopped the flame for at least 4 minutes in all 6 tests.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
highly flammable
Remarks:
Migrated information
Conclusions:
Biphenyl DCHA Salt burned with a yellow/blue flame and the time of burning was less than 45 seconds. According to this, the test substance is considered ‘highly flammable’. The wetted zone applied in the burning rate test stopped the flame for at least 4 minutes.
