First-aid measures

Inhalation:

Move to fresh air If breathing is difficult, give oxygen Do not use mouth-to-mouth resuscitation if victim ingested or inhaled the substance; induce artificial respiration with a respiratory medical device. Seek medical attention if symptoms develop or persist.

Skin contact:

Immediately take off all contaminated clothing and flush skin with plenty of water. Wash affected area with mild soap and water. Get medical attention if irritation develops or persists.

Eye contact:

Immediately rinse eye with plenty of water, including under the eyelids, for at least 25 minutes and seek medical attention.

Ingestion:

Rinse mouth thoroughly with water. Do not induce vomiting without medical advice. If vomiting occurs, have victim lean forward to reduce risk of aspiration. If ingestion of a large amount occurs, seek medical attention. Never give anything by mouth to a victim who is unconscious. Seek medical attention if symptoms develop or persist.

Fire-fighting measures

In case of fire do not use a high volume water jet, dry chemical, or carbon dioxide. Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate or local circumstances and the surrounding environment. Wear full protective clothing, including helmet, self-contained positive pressure or pressure demand breathing apparatus, protective clothing and face mask. Move containers from fire area if you can do it without risk. Use water spray to cool unopened containers. Do not scatter spilled material with high pressure water streams. Decomposition may yield carbon oxides and phenols.

Ventilate the contaminated area and eliminate ignition sources. Use personal protective equipment. Keep unnecessary personnel away. Prevent further leakage or spillage if you can do so without risk. Prevent product from entering drains. Do not flush into surface water or sewer system. Runoff may pollute waterways. Dike the spilled material where possible. Soak up with inert absorbent material and dispose of as hazardous waste. Thoroughly clean the release area with a suitable agent and collect any cleaning, rinsing media(s) for proper reclamation or disposal.

Accidental release measures

Ventilate the contaminated area and eliminate ignition sources. Use personal protective equipment. Keep unnecessary personnel away. Prevent further leakage or spillage if you can do so without risk. Prevent product from entering drains. Do not flush into surface water or sewer system. Run off may pollute waterways. Dike the spilled material where possible. Soak up with inert absorbent material and dispose of as hazardous waste. Thoroughly clean the release area with a suitable agent and collect any cleaning, rinsing media(s) for proper reclamation or disposal.

Handling and storage

Handling:

Handle and open container with care. Avoid sources of ignition. Wear personal protective equipment. Do not empty into drains. As with all chemicals, good industrial hygiene practices should be followed when handling this material. . When the container(s) is empty it may retain product residue including vapors.

Storage:

Protect container from physical abuse. Keep the container tightly closed. Keep away from heat, sparks, and flame. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area. Keep separate from incompatibles. Empty product containers may contain product residue. Do not reuse empty containers.
