Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Move to fresh air. In case of indisposition or if breathing
is difficult seek medical advice.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 15
minutes. Consult a physician.
Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contamined clothing immediately. Wash off with soap
and plenty of water. If necessary seek medical advice.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Clean mouth with water.
Seek medical advice immediately.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Carbon dioxide (CO2), powder or water spray .
In case of large fires use water spray and alcohol resistant
foam.
Product arising from burning: Carbon dioxides.
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: Wear full protective clothing; wear self-contained breathing
apparatus.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Personal precautions:
Do not inhalate. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing.
Remove all sources of ignition.
Environmental precautions:
Do not flush into surface water or ground water system.
Eventual spillage upon loading is cleaned by operators with
the described Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and waste
properly handled (internal or external disposal).
Handling and storage
Handling: Exposure potential to Ethylene glycol mono-tert-butyl ether
is limited to sampling and charging. For both operations are
in place procedures and a containment system, as fixed
exhaust system, to assure that exposure is negligible. In
addition Clariant LSM performs on a routine basis air
quality analyses in workplaces. All workers are under
medical control and clinical analyses in accordance with
applicable regulation.
All operators have been adequately trained on the internal
procedures and use always the following standard Personal
Protective Equipment (PPE): helmet, glasses and safety
shoes. All operators have in their equipment also specific
PPE: full face mask with combined filter, safety gloves and
protective overall (e.g. Tyvek).
Storage: Drums stored in dedicated area with fire-fighting system and
chemical sewer collected to the on-site waste water
treatment plant.
Avoid ignition sources. Ensure good local exhaust
ventilation. Do not eat, drink or smoke at the workplace.
Take precautionary measures against static discharges.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 180 Kg steel drums.
