First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Seek immediate medical

attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with eyewash solution or clean water,

holding the eyelids apart, for at least 10 minutes.  Obtain

immediate medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash immediately with water, followed by soap and water.

Obtain medical attention.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: For small fires, foam, carbon dioxide, dry powder or halon

extinguishant may be used.  For large fires, use foam or

water-fog; avoid use of water jet.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon and

nitrogen together with some soot.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: A self contained breathing apparatus and suitable protective

clothing should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing (see 2.3.1).

Take up spill using moist sand, soil or sawdust. Transfer to

suitable containers and dispose of by incineration in

accordance with local regulations. Wash spill site with

water, do not allow washings to enter drains.

If uncontrolled discharge occurs the appropriate regulatory

body should be alerted.

Handling and storage

Handling: Observe the usual precautions for handling organic

chemicals. Avoid exposure. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.

Protective coveralls, boots, chemical resistant gloves

goggles and a face mask should be worn. Do not breathe dust.

Take precautionary measures against static discharges.

Storage: Store in tightly closed containers, in a cool, well

ventilated place.  Keep away from heat and sources of

ignition.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 1 tonne big bag or 200 litre metal drum.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not economically possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method using temperatures at above 1200 deg C

with at least 2 seconds residence time. Waste gas treatment

to remove oxides of nitrogen should be fitted. (A663)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.
