First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient to fresh air. Symptomatic treatment.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes.  Seek

immediate medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes.  If

irritation persists seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek immediate medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, carbon dioxide, polymer foam or dry chemical may be

used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion may contain oxides of carbon and

sulfur together with some soot.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and a self-contained breathing

apparatus must be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear suitable protective clothing, see 2.3.1. Evacuate

personnel from immediate vicinity. Absorb spillages of

solutions with a suitable inert material (eg. sand or soil).

Carefully transfer the spillage to labelled waste

containers, or use a sealed industrial vacuum machine.

Dispose of waste material in accordance with local

regulations by incineration or landfill. Wash spill area

with water.

Handling and storage

Handling: Observe the usual precautions for handling organic

chemicals. Engineering controls are necessary to reduce

exposure to the substance and local ventilation apparatus

should be used.

Protective clothing such as gloves (prEN374), eye protection

(prEN166), skin protection (EN368) and a safety mask (EN

149) should be worn. Suitable respiratory protective

equipment (EN149FFP2S) may be required.

Storage: Store in sealed containers in cool dry conditions. Avoid

extreme temperatures (50 deg C) and high humidity.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 200 litre drums, and 20 tonne IBCs

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for recycling is not possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None known.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method at a suitable facility. Waste gas

treatment to remove oxides of nitrogen, sulfur, and

phosphorus should be fitted. (A661)

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance and preparations containing it will not be

used by the public at large.
