Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove at once to fresh air.  Seek medical attention

immediately.  If the casualty is not breathing, give

artificial respiration at once.  If the casualty has

difficulty in breathing, give oxygen.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush eyes immediately with plenty of water for at least 15

minutes and seek medical attention.  Keep the eyelids wide

apart with fingers and wash out the inside of the eyelids

thorougly.

Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated clothing and shoes immediately.  Wash

off immediately with water and soap.  If redness or skin

irritation occurs, seek medical attention immediately.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Induce vomitting repeatedly by putting fingers into throat

and seek medical attention immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Cardon dioxide, dry powder, regular foam, water.

Product arising from burning: Hazardous decomposition products: Carbon monoxide, carbon

dioxide, hydrogen fluoride and or nitrogen oxides may be

formed.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Firefighters should wear appropriate protective equipment

with self-contained breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Steps to be taken in case of accidental release:

Spills should be collected in appropriate waste collection

containers.  Clean up by flushing with copious amounts of

water.

Waste disposal information:

Federal, State and Local laws and regulations will determine

the proper waste disposal procedure.

Handling and storage

Handling: When handling material, wear full protective clothing and

appropriate respirator.

Storage: Keep container well closed.  Suitable for any general

chemical storage area that is cool and dry.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Double bag with zip ties inside fibre drums.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Chemical stability: Stable.

Conditions to avoid: None known

Incompatibility (materials to avoid): Strong oxidising

agents

Hazardous decomposition products: Carbon monoxide, carbon

dioxide, hydrogen fluoride and or nitrogen oxides may be

formed.

Hazardous polymerisation:  Will not occur.

Chemical reaction with water: <0.1% water solubility.  No reaction with water.

Dust explosion: The substance is an organic powder.  Most such powders have

the capacity to form potentially explosive dusts when

subject to mechanical processes.

Adequate plant controls must be put in place, and account

taken of this risk during handling.  Plant controls should

include the following precautions:

a) handle the substance in a fully enclosed plant where

possible;

b) control sources of ignition;

c) maintain high standards of housekeeping to prevent

formation of dust deposits;

d) take account of the risk in plant design; and

e) maintain the plant in a leak-tight condition.

Provided these precautions are followed, the substance is of

no immediate concern in relation to physico-chemical hazard

at current levels of supply.

Dust explosion determined by test: N

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not recoverable/recyclable.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Remove from exposure.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not applicable.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Dissolve or mix the material with a combustible solvent and

burn in a chemical incinerator equipped with an after burner

and scrubber in accordance with all applicable regulations.

Any disposal must be in compliance with local, state, and

federal laws and regulations (contact local or state

environmental agency specific rules).

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Sedimentation, filtration or centrifugation.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not applicable.

Public at large - Possibility of destruction - others: Not applicable.
