First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial

respiration, preferably mouth-to-mouth. If breathing is

difficult, give oxygen. Get medical attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: In case of contact with eyes, rinse inmediately with plenty

of water.

Seek medical advice.

Emergency measure - Skin: After contact with skin, wash inmediately with plenty of

water. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes.

Wash clothing before re-use.

Seek medical advice.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Induce vomiting inmediately by giving two glasses of water

and sticking finger down throat. Never give anything by

mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Do not use water. Use large excess of dry chemical,

vermiculite or sand.

Product arising from burning: Include hafnium compounds and oxides of carbon.

Flammable/toxic gases may be released

Protective equipment: Standard fireman equipment is recommended.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Ventilate area.

Remove sources of ignition.

Sweep or shovel spills into appropriate container for

disposal.

Large spills may be taken up with pump or vacuum and

finished off with dry chemical absorbent.

May require excavation of contaminated soil.

Handling and storage

Handling: If skin contact or contamination of clothing is likely,

protective clothing should be worn.

Storage: Keep container thightly closed.

Store in a cool dry place under nitrogen.

Local exhaust is needed at source of vapours.

Mechanical ventilation is recommended.
