Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Not applicable.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse immediately with plenty of water.

Emergency measure - Skin: Rinse with water.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Not toxic after oral ingestion.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: water, carbon dioxide, foam, dry powder

Product arising from burning: carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: The substance is a sugar molecule and will not yield NOx

products upon combustion. No special protection necessary,

just regular fire fighting equipment.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Dam large quantities and pump them into a container. For the

remaining amount use absorbent material. Small quantities

can be flushed with plenty of water into the sewage system.

Handling and storage

Handling: Avoid eye contact. In case of eye contact, rinse immediately

with plenty of water.

Storage: Should be stored refridgerated (4-8°C in the dark). Avoid

temperatures >40 C to prevent a change of colour.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: Polycanister 1 kg

Polycanister 10 kg

Polycanister 25 kg

Material of polycanisters: HD-polyethylene

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery of intact substance after spill is not possible,

because of decomposition.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: Dilution with plenty of water, flush into sewage system

(contains only physiological and biodegradable compounds).

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Dilution with plenty of water, flush into sewage system

(contains only physiological and biodegradable compounds).

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Not applicable.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Dilution with plenty of water, flush into sewage system

(contains only physiological and biodegradable compounds).

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery of intact substance after spill is not possible,

because of decomposition.
