Principles of method if other than guideline:
The toxicity of 2,4-dichloroaniline to lettuce (Lactuca sativa) was determined in soil according to OECD TG 208 and in nutrient solution according to Steiner (1968). In the first case a static and in the latter a semistatic exposure was established. Both tests were carried out by two different Dutch institutes (RIVM and TNO).
