Acute tests on all three trophic levels were performed to examine the aquatic toxicity of 2,2 -dimethyloxiran. Daphnia turned out to be the most sensitive species revealing an EC50 (48h) of 64.8 mg/L. Fish and algae were found less sensitive providing a LC50 (96h) >100 mg/L and an ErC50 (72h) >500 mg/L, respectively. Thus, the substance is considered acutely toxic for aquatic organisms
