Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 103 (Boiling Point)
Qualifier:
equivalent or similar to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.2 (Boiling Temperature)
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:

Remarks:
Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA) / Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC)
Remarks on result:
not determinable

RESULT:

  • Between around 180 and 300 °C an endothermic effect could be detected.

  • Between approx. 300 – 350 °C and from approx. 350 °C additional endothermic effects were visible.

  • A reaction of the test item was indicated by the dark brown melt residue in the crucible after finalization of the test.

Validity criteria for the measurement of the boiling point:

Target condition according to guideline OECD 103:Actual condition according to the study:Validity criteria met:
The mean of at least two measurements which are in the range of the estimated accuracy (Siwoloboff = +/- 2.0 K) should be reported.Only one measurement is reported. No
The pressure(s) at which the
measurements were made shall be reported. The pressure should preferably be close to normal atmospheric pressure.
The atmospheric pressure is stated.Yes

Conclusions:
No boiling point of Fluocortolon-A-Acetat could be detected. Between around 180 °C and 300 °C an endothermic effect could be detected. Since the endothermic phase could be reproduced in another measurement performed in a closed crucible the endothermic phase resulted from the melting point.
Executive summary:

A differential thermoanalysis method (DTA/DSC) was used to determine the melting point with test method OECD Guideline 103 'Boiling point' corresponding to AC A.2, "Boiling temperature". The sample was weighed in a crucible made of aluminium, cooled down in a DTA/DSC-system to 20 °C and then heated up to 450 °C (heating rate 5 K/min). In comparison with an inert sample (empty crucible) the temperature difference and the heat effect was recorded. Between around 180 and 300 °C an endothermic effect could be detected. Since the endothermic phase could be reproduced in another measurement performed in a closed crucible the endothermic phase resulted from the melting point. No boiling point could be detected.
