Description of key information

In an experimental study, a 96hr LC50 for freshwater fish in the species Pimephales promelas of 2400mg/l was established.
No symptoms of toxicity were observed at 1000 mg/l (NOEC).
The substance 2-(2-(2-butoxyethoxy)ethoxy)ethanol is an analogue of the test substance used in the study of Dawson GW, Jennings AL, Drozdowski D et al 1975. Correcting for molecular weight, a conservative LC50 of 2181.5 mg/l can be derived. (1250 x 206.28) / 118.2=2181.5mg/l for marine water fish (SW).
