Test conditions

Test temperature:
20-30°C
Moisture:
Pots were irrigated daily recieving approximately 53 mL water each day
Details on test conditions:
TEST SYSTEM- Testing facility: Laboratory Greenhouse- Test container: Plastic pot 7.5 x 7.5 x 6.0 cm- Amount of soil: Each pot was completely filled with soil- Method of seeding: Soybean, cucumber, oat and corn were planted at a depth of 2.5 cm while the remaining 6 species were planted at a depth of 1.3 cm. A plexiglass template was used to create planting holes in the soil- No. of seeds per container: 10- No. of replicates per treatment group: 3- No. of replicates per control: 3- No. of replicates per vehicle control:SOURCE AND PROPERTIES OF SUBSTRATE (if soil)Hanford Sandy Loam soil withadded perlite. Soil had been sterilised prior to the test. GROWTH CONDITIONS- Volume water applied:53 mL/ day approximately- 23.3 mL applied as part of treatment application. - Method of application: Material applied with a belt sprayer from within a fume hood. Phytotoxicity: Plants were observed for signs of phytotoxicity, and the plant height was measured.

Details on results:
SEEDLING EMERGENCEAt the 21 day observation period there were no significant differances in seedling emergence in any of the treatment rates for soybean, lettuce, carrot, tomato, cabbage, oat, ryegrass, corn, and onion. Cucumber was affected at th e ctreatment rate of 1.12 kg/ha. The EC50 value for cucumber was determined to be 1 kg/ha. Cucumber was also the only species to show significant phytotoxic effects at the 1.12 kg/ha treatment group though not at the lower application rates.. .
