Myralene was tested via 3 biodegradation methods: OECD 301F, OECD 310, and OECD 301B. All three methods are recommended for chemicals with low water solublity. However, 301B is not recommended for volatile materials.

The rationale for selecting 3 methods was to compare results and to see how the test material would behave in 301B test given the test material's vapor pressure.

The susbstance was determined to be readily biodegradable in the OECD 301F and 310 studies and as predicted, not readily biodegradable in OECD 301B, which is thought to be due to potential volatilization losses.

OECD 301F: 99% ThO2 in 28 days (10 day window requirement met)

OECD 310: 78.5% ThIC in 28 days (10 day window requirement met)

OECD 301B: 23.4% ThCO2 in 28 days.

Based on weight of evidence, the material is classified as "readily biodegradable."
