Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Based on the geometric mean measured concentrations of the test item, the 48 hour-EC50 for Daphnia magna was 2.07 mg/L (95% confidence limits: 1.81 - 2.35 mg/L). The NOEC after 48 hours was 1.42 mg/L.

Additional information

In this acute immobilization test with Daphnia magna (STRAUS), the effects of the test item were determined according to OECD 202 (2004).

The study was conducted in a closed system (sealed glass flasks) without headspace under semistatic conditions over a period of 48 hours with the undiluted saturated solution of the test item and five dilution levels (nominal: 1:51.5 to 1:2.2) prepared out of the saturated solution in a geometric series with a separation factor of 2.2.

The concentrations of the test item were analytically verified via GC-MS in fresh media at the start of the exposure and at renewal (0 and 24 hours) and in old media at renewal and at the end of the test (24 and 48 hours) in all concentration levels and the control.

The measured concentrations of the test item in fresh media at the start of the exposure and at renewal (0 and 24 hours) were in the range of 0.674 to 39.6 mg/L. The measured concentrations in old media at renewal and at the end of the test (24 and 48 hours) were in the range of 55 to 106% of the initially measured concentrations. The geometric mean measured concentrations are: 0.647 - 1.42 - 3.01 - 7.11 - 15.8 - 29.3 mg/L.

Based on the geometric mean measured concentrations of the test item, the 48 hour-EC50 for Daphnia magna was 2.07 mg/L (95% confidence limits: 1.81 - 2.35 mg/L). The NOEC after 48 hours was 1.42 mg/L.
