Justification for classification or non-classification

Due to the fact that the substance reacts violently with moisture and produces hydrofluoric and iodic acids, classification for toxicity is based on HF according to EU Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures (CLP) Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008, for human toxicological properties. IF5 should be classified as Acute Toxicity Cat. 1, H310, Acute Toxicity Cat. 2, H300 and Acute Toxicity Cat. 2, H330 for acute dermal, oral and inhalation toxicity, respectively and T+; R26/27/28 according to EU Directive 67/548/EEC.
