Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Tests for assessment of a possible toxicity of substances of the Diarylide Yellow Pigments on terrestrial plants are scientifically not justified. Taking into account all available data comprising aquatic toxicity (acute tests for fish and chronic tests for aquatic plants / algae and invertebrates), sediment toxicity (chronic) and soil toxicity (earth worm, chronic), toxicity to terrestrial plants is highly improbable as in none of the mentioned tests any ecotoxicity of the Diarylide Yellow Pigments was observed.

According to Guidance on Information requirements and Chemical Safety Assessment, part R.7C, chapter R.7.11.5.3, in absence of data on soil organisms generation of new data on those terrestrial organisms are preferred, which are exposed by different pathways, namely feeding and surface contact beyond exposure via pore water. As plants are largely exposed via pore water, the chronic tests on sediment organisms (Lumbriculus variegates) and soil macro-organisms (earth worm Eisenia fetida) were chosen to account for possible sediment and soil toxicity.
