Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Eye contact  : Immediately flush eyes with copious amounts of water. If irritation develops, seek medical attention.

Skin contact : Wash affected areas with soap and water.  If irritation develops, seek medical attention. Remove and launder contaminated clothing before reuse.

Inhalation   : Move to fresh air. Aid in breathing if necessary and seek medical attention.

Ingestion    : If swallowed, dilute with water and immediately induce vomiting. Never give fluids or induce vomiting if the victim is unconscious or having convulsion.

Seek medical attention

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media : Water spray, carbon dioxide, foam, dry powder extinguisher.

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

Flash point: Not applicable, decompose at approximately 228℃.

Flammable limit  : Not applicable, not highly flammable.

Hazards decomposition products : CO, CO2, etc.

Advice for firefighters

Fire fighting protective equipment : A self contained breathing apparatus and suitable (chemical) protective clothing must be worn in fire conditions.

Do not allow extinguishing water to reach ground water or sewage system. Contaminated extinguishing water has to be disposed of in accordance with local regulations.

If area is heavily exposed to fire and if conditions permit, let fire burn itself out since water may increase the area contaminated. Cool containers/tanks/drums with spray water. Remove them to safety.

Accidental release measures

1. Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

Avoid creating dusty conditions and prevent wind dispersal. Do not touch the leakage, and do not walk on it.

Prohibit unauthorized entry into the area.

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment and avoid inhalation or contact with eyes and skin.

If not wearing an appropriate personal protective clothing, do not touch the damaged container and leakage.

Respiratory protection: Respirators should be worn to avoid breathing pigment powder.

Hand protection: Use latex or neoprene gloves.

Eye protection: Use safety glasses.

2. Environmental precautions

Do not release into the environment. Pay attention not to cause the influence on the environment by discharging into rivers.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:

Collect spilled material in the most convenient and safe manner and deposit in sealed container for reclaiming or proper disposal. If accidental spillage or washings enter drains or watercourses contact local Environment Agency.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling

Handling :Use with adequate ventilation. Use suitable protective equipment. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Avoid creating dusty conditions and prevent wind dispersal. Avoid inhaling dust.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

Storage  : Keep in the original container. Keep container tightly closed and keep away from moisture.

Packaging material: Paper bag (inner polyethylene bag)

Specific end use(s)       : No information available
