Phototransfromation in air:

The atmospheric oxidation half life of chlorocresol was estimated using level III multimedia model it indicates that chlorocresol is not persistent in air medium as the half life period of chlorocresol in air is only 0.62 days. From this it is concluded that chlorocresol is rapidly phototransformed in air.

The hydrolysis rate constant of chlorocresol was estimated to be 0.0000000000256787 (25.6787 E-12) cm3/molecule-sec at half life of the 4.998 Hrs.This estimated half life of the substance indicates that the substance is moderately hydrolysable.
